In early October of 2016, Gina McKague was skimming through Facebook. Carolyn Hart, one of her loyal clients posted an alarming post. Carolyn went on to post that her beloved 90 year old mother was receiving threats from the Social Security office claiming that she was going to lose all of her benefits due to a phantom pension that never existed.
Gina reached out to Carolyn. The two of them went to work, spending long hours on hold with the Social Security office trying to resolve the issue. After failed attempts with the Social Security personnel and trying to reach out the company that housed this phantom pension, McKague reached out to Detroit’s media powerhouse reporters.
Over the course of a long weekend, all was resolved and Hart’s mother was able to keep her Social Security benefits. Watch the news segment here.
